Coffeenilla body scrub

Ok so a couple of days ago I posted this body scrub recipe:

1 c. coffee grinds (fine)- exfoliation+cellulite killer
1/4 c. pure sugar- exfoliate
2 T. olive oil- moisturize
2 drops vanilla/essential oil/perfume- scent

Yesterday was my first time trying this while showering because I grabbed some extra time away from the world (finally).  My first impression was "wow this is really dirty".  It's like taking dirt and sand out of a mud pit and rubbing it all over your body.  Once I got over how gross my shower was looking because of this, I actually stated liking it.  The coffee grinds and sugar are really exfoliating, while the olive oil leaves your skin feeling moisturized instead of dry and muddy.
I would totally recommend this to anyone, as long as you don't mind cleaning your shower afterword.  The only thing I would do different is add more vanilla or none at all, because I could not smell it whatsoever!  I can tell a difference, and I will be doing this probably once or twice a week... any more and I would probably be damaging my skin.

Anyone else who thinks Beyonce was spot on?

This is more of a rant than anything else, and I decided to rant here because no one from my personal life (aka friends, boyfriend, family, etc.) know that I have this!  My blog is sort of my secret getaway... somewhere I can go and say anything I want and it won't get back to certain others.  So here we go.

Big enough hint?  Lol.
On that note...
I am planning on a small giveaway when/if I ever reach 20 followers.  I think it will be fun to host giveaways because I love giving other people things they might want!
For those who really do read my blog, honestly I'm honored because I never though that someone would actually care about what I think and say!  It's amazing to me that right now, I have 7 people here who actually like what I had to say enough to follow me!  Again, thanks and watch out for a giveaway... maybe spread the word a little about my blog if you want?  :D

Summer beauty tips anyone?

Hey lovelies!
I hope you all are having a wonderful day so far!  I was thinking today about beauty tips I really know work and came up with a few.
1.  Exfoliate your whole body at least once a week.

Especially with summer right around the corner, you want your skin looking really healthy and at its best!  Exfoliation does wonders, and you can either buy it or make it with things you probably have at home.
Thursday, I picked up a peach body scrub from Equate (comparable to Saint Ives) because it was pretty cheap (around $3).   That night I was really excited to use it so I hopped in the shower after Zumba and immediately tried it out.  Unfortunately I wasn't too pleased with it because it wasn't as exfoliating as I would have liked, and since the bottle is so small I almost used half of it just to scrub my body!  I will most definitely NOT be purchasing this again anytime soon.
Saturday I decided I'm to made my own scrub out of coffee grinds and sugar so I don't have to buy another kind of scrub from the store.  Coffee grinds have multiple perks to using it.  Of course it is very exfoliating, but it also reduces the appearance of cellulite and veins because of the caffeine!
Here is my scrub recipe:
1 c. coffee grinds (fine)- exfoliation+cellulite killer
1/4 c. pure sugar- exfoliate
2 T. olive oil- moisturize
2 drops vanilla/essential oil/perfume- scent

Rub and massage onto body, rinse, then cleanse with your normal soap.
Easy right?
I'll make sure to update you on how it went :)

2.  Exercise

Which is a necessary evil of the summer.  If you want to stay in shape and healthy, then exercise at least 30 minutes each weekday minimum!  If you think you don't have time for that, I bet if you mapped out your day you would see how much time you really do have that you spend with fillers.  How often do we come home and sit down to watch TV with our family?  Now pick your family up off the couch and go on a walk to the beach, or around a neighborhood, or in the woods.  Anything!  Go walk your dog around the park!  Chances are, you live near to something that is beautiful to walk around.  I live close to DC and I love going there because not only do you see so many incredible things and get a tan, but I also end up walking AT LEAST 5 miles each time I go.  It's awesome :)  You can also take a fun class that you can take with extra time.  I suggest Zumba, Power Yoga and Jazzercise!  Although I have never tried Jazzercise, my friends swear by it and love it!  If you don't know what they are, check it out on youtube!

3.  Drink lots of water!

Hydrating the body can do many things for you.  First off, keep you alive... which is always a plus.  Second, it can make your skin have a healthy glow to it as long as you keep hydrated.  Think of the summer how great you look!  Now think of how often you are around, and drink water.  Put two and two together and wallah!  Finally, drinking lots of water can help you lose weight, which is what a lot of us are trying to do right now.

Do you have any beauty tips that you use during the summer to give you that extra kick to your beauty?  Please share!

17 Random Questions Tag

Laura16xo posted this on her youtube channel recently and I decided to try it out since I was really bored!  If you're interested then go ahead and post your answers in comments, on youtube or on your blog :)
1. Favorite color: It depends what it is.  To wear, corals. Makeup, neutrals.  Crayon, blue.
2. Heavy or Light sleeper: Heavy, I'm a big time sleep talker.  It's kind of embarrassing actually!
3. Least favorite feature:  My stomach!  I'm trying to get rid of it by next month ;)  HELLO Zumba.
4. Phobias: Snakes and Heights
5. Favorite time of year?  Summer.  I get to see my family and Beaches... hello! ;)
6. Did you have an imaginary friend as a child?  Yes her name was Rose, but I never played with her.  Imaginary friends were cool at the age of 6 so I just made one up.
7. Have you ever been in a physical fight?  If so how many and with who?  No I haven't... I'm too scared lol!
8. Have you ever stolen anything?  When I was really young I would take a piece of candy from the store!  Ugh I feel horrible about it still!
9. Turn ons and offs?  I like when a person can make me laugh, someone who dresses nice, nice eyes, good teeth...  Turn offs are bad teeth/breath, cocky, rude, and uptight.
10.  Are you a morning person?  I think I am.  Once I'm awake at least!  A lot of times I'm like in-between consciousness and sleep so it's a little confusing.
11. Favorite and least favorite food:Favorite, ribs and sushi.  Least favorite, meatloaf!
12. One piece of clothing you can't live without: Tank tops and jeans... I guess that's two, but oh well.  I love tanks because you can pretty much wear them year round if you layer things when it's colder.  And jeans are pretty much amazing.  You can dress them up or down any day!
13.  Tattoos/Piercings:  Only one ear piercing in each ear.
14.  What is or was ur least favorite subject in school?  History!  I was horrible at it and I am sure I still am.  Luckily nurses don't need to know too much about past presidents ;)
15. Shower in the morning or evening?  If I'm too tired at night, I will in the morning.  Usually at night though.
16. 3 most important things in my life:
17.  Dogs or cats?  Dogs, cats gross me out for the most part.

1... 2... 3... Zumba!

Now that summer (aka bikini season) is almost here, we all are rushing to get in shape!  I cannot seem to motivate myself to go outside and run so I take ZUMBA!  For those of you who don't know what Zumba is, it is a high-energy Latin dancing class.  There are tons of DVDs out there with this workout-routine as well as local gyms that have instructors.  I don't have a DVD of it, but I go to World Gym for the classes classes.
I've taken this once before while I was visiting family in Utah, and I loved it.  The steps were so easy and fun to do, so I though that would be how it was this time around.  Boy was I wrong!  This lady can move her booty!  It was crazy the intricate things she would do, but the bad thing was it left us in the class behind!  I wish there was another class for beginners, but unfortunately there isn't and there is only one teacher.  It was SO crazy and I felt like a baby giraffe just learning to walk, but surprisingly I had tons of fun!  Although I probably looked funny to other people, I was having the time of my life!  Now I know a lot of people who say working out is fun, and they go to the gym and lift weights, run and work on the machines but that is not me.  Those of you like me who can't have fun running, biking or doing other machines this is it!  This workout will really tone you all over if you keep to it.  If you want to try it out, you could probably get it at your local library.  I totally recommend it, and I'm definitely going again tonight :)
Clothing wise, you can just wear any type of workout/lounge clothing and tennis shoes.  Whatever you wear should let you move freely.  I wear my favorite Aerie yoga pants and a workout tank like these... (Pictures taken from www.ae.com).

Click on this link, and it will take you directly to the aerie F.I.T. section with everything you would need to work out in.  You can also get things from Walmart that work just as well!

Good luck searching for your summer body!  I hope I find mine by next month... EEK!! :)

Beautiful Girls!!!!

Happy "Hump Day"!
I wanted to talk a little about how I've been doing in my little "glamify project".  I think at first I was doing this to become more pretty to everyone else, but I found that in reality I am doing this for myself.  I have not ever been a really pretty person, and I have had a lot of hard times because of my bad self image.  This experiment has made me believe that everyone is beautiful... but in order for other people to see it, you have to believe it first.  You are beautiful.  Period.  Don't let anyone, including yourself say anything different.  Be beautiful for you, and everyone else will see it.  When you feel good, you shine.  As the poet Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "Love of beauty is taste.  The creation of beauty is art."  You truly are a work of art and don't let anyone convince you of anything less.
Another thing I found is that you don't have to buy expensive make up for quality and a good look.  I really like make up from Mabelline, Covergirl and other inexpensive brands that you find at CVS!  You can save in certain areas (such as eyeshadow and mascara) while spending a little more for better quality in others (for me, foundation and eyeliner).  Classy doesn't mean expensive!
I do feel a lot better about myself now that I get up in the morning and do my hair and make up to start my day off right!  I actually think about what I am going to wear before I throw things on.  I want to inspire people to feel and be beautiful, so I am going to continue this blog with beauty and fashion tips, advice and reviews!  I am not an expert... that's given, but I do feel anyone can motivate others and cheer them on to happiness with themselves.

Beauty/Fashion HAUL!

Hello bloggers :)
I'm sorry it's been so long since I've posted, but I have been sooo stressed about college finals, work and everything else. I am happy to say I am back though! Woohoo!
So since April is over and we are 11 days into May, I decided to do a haul so you all can see how I've been doing with my Glamify project. I have been wearing makeup everyday and I am proud to say it. I feel so much prettier... but I do have a small breakout problem. I think its my foundation, so do you have any suggestions? Maybe I just won't wear any for now...
Anyways, full makeup/beauty/fashion haul!
First off, clothes.
Found this at a boutique I had no idea I lived by... SO cute :)  V neck sheer shirt.

Next all from F21 (also got black shorts).  I pair the belt with both of these dresses... I'm thinking about wearing one to a wedding in a couple of weeks.  Do you think they would be appropriate?  It's at a golf club outside.  Suggestions please?

Make up :)
I got these brushes and cleaner at Sephora.  I love them and they were a great deal!  Only 45 dollars!
My make up here isnt all new, but more of my must haves.
My friend Caitlin gave me the Vera Bradley case!
The only thing I absolutely HATE here and will never ever get is my Collosal Mascara.  Absolutely horrible and clumpy!  I miss my Lash Blast incredibly and need to go get one tonight!

I just got this Hot Tools curling iron!  I love it.  This cuts off curling time and the curls hold all day (with the help of my hairspray of course)!  Originally $50 but I got it for 25% off so it was only $37 something!

Onto bathroom things!
Clean and clear morning burst, Mary Kay makeup remover, Paul Mitchell heat protectant, head and sholders volumizing shampoo (I don't have dandruff, but the smell and what it does to my hair is amazing so I use it!)  Sunsilk Conditioner, Caress shampoo and of course toothbrush and Shick Quattro shaver! Love them all!

My ultimate beauty MUST have is Q-Tips!
Whether I'm taking off makeup on my eyes, fixing smudges, adjusting nail polish or cleaning my ears, this is my go-to love!

Whew, ok end of the haul!  What do you think?
If you have anything in your must haves you think I should try out then let me know!  Please comment and let me know what you think and what I should improve on!  Off to Zumba class tonight, I can't wait to try this out!
